We are the generations that survived a twenty-year reign of darkness and dread, and an embarrassing defaulting on our debts. We stood in front of tanks, ready to die for country, yet we lived. We survived a pandemic, the kind not seen in a century. While imprisoned in our homes, we saw loved ones stolen by the invisible poison in the air. We witnessed a drug war that drenched city streets at night with blood. We saw the return of the Marcoses and of a distressingly steep rise in prices, but not to worry, we will survive this as well. /Vincent R. Pozon
