IN A heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Waltermart Supermarket recently stepped up to support the local animal welfare community. Representatives from the supermarket giant officially handed over a significant donation of pet food to Save Animals of Love and Light – Save ALL, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of maltreated and abandoned animals.
The turnover ceremony saw Apple Sichon, store head, and Charmaine Lidres, assistant store head of Waltermart North EDSA, presenting six large grocery bags containing approximately 500 pieces of pet food to Save ALL Public Relations Officer Red Pasetes. This donation arrives as a timely boost for the organization’s ongoing efforts to sustain its rescues.

According to Waltermart management, this initiative is part of a broader commitment to partner with and support non-governmental organizations (NGOs) within the animal welfare sector. The North EDSA branch is not alone in this mission; similar donation drives were recently held at Waltermart Greenhills and Waltermart E. Rodriguez, benefiting various local animal welfare groups.
Beyond the Bowl: Holistic Care at Save ALL
The donated supplies have already been transported to the Save ALL homes, where they serve two vital purposes:
- Augmenting Daily Meals: The food will supplement the specialized diet prepared for the homes’ residents.
- Stray Feeding Programs: A portion ofthe donation is earmarked for the group’s outreach activities, providing meals to stray dogs and cats to prevent them from scavenging through garbage for survival.

While commercial pet food provides a convenient boost, Save ALL maintains a rigorous nutritional standard for its rescues. To ensure the animals develop robust immune systems against common threats like parvovirus, distemper, mange (galis), and erlichia, the organization prepares daily meals of fresh vegetables and meat.
Furthermore, the “Save ALL lifestyle” emphasizes freedom and mental health. Unlike some traditional animal homes, these rescues are given roaming time within the sanctuary compound to run, play, and socialize, ensuring their holistic well-being is prioritized during their journey to recovery.

13 Years of Compassion
As of 2026, Save ALL is on its way to 13 years of service to the voiceless. Since its inception, the group has successfully rescued, fostered, and rehomed more than 800 dogs and cats.
Beyond rescue operations, Save ALL remains a staunch advocate for sustainable animal welfare solutions, including:

- Low-cost Spay and Neuter operations to control the stray population. Save ALL has had more than 600 dogs and cats spayed or neutered.
- Educational campaigns focused onresponsible pet ownership.
- Community feeding drives for “community” animals.
The partnership with Waltermart highlights a growing trend of corporate entities recognizing the importance of animal welfare in building a more compassionate society. For the 800-plus animals that have passed through Save ALL’s gates, such kindness is more than just a donation—it is a lifeline.
