My fingers have grown heavy like stone
from typing all day
Condolence
My condolences
Nakikiramay sa inyo
And other words of comfort to the grieving
Consolation is best delivered with a tight embrace
Hands held
But we cannot
So we console by typing
Condolence
My condolences
Nakikiramay sa inyo
My heart is numb
at day’s end
My head aches
from the routine
I lie down
The wail
of ambulance sirens
lull me to sleep
