Donald Trump sows discord and nastiness at home and abroad with tariffs, layoffs and deportations, defunding vital aid; on the other side of the world, Vladimir Putin serves up missiles and drones to Ukrainians, undeterred in his dream of conquest; in Africa, armies eviscerate the population in their obscene battles; while in Israel, Netanyahu and his deranged cabinet and the IDF exterminate Palestinians, with bombs and forced starvation even as Western governments watch impotently.

Nothing seems to stand in the way of their lethal rampages. To tweak Walter Scott’s famous words: “Will future ages believe that such barbarity ever existed!” /mdm
