I am always disappointed when I am received by a man with a limp handshake. You extend your hand with energy, and you are accepted unenthusiastically, feebly.
The handshake is said to have originated to show that hands are empty of weapons. So the limp handshake is discourteous to such openness.
During the Covid Years, I thought that once we are out and allowed, the handshake will be regarded as more precious, that we will revel in the ability to grip someone. The pandemic is over. Only the limp handshake persists, if anything so lifeless can be said to live. /Vincent R. Pozon
