Upon his election many of us believed a Marcos Junior presidency would be one of perennial disorder and instability. Challenged by a world in turmoil – Trump’s tariffs, China’s aggression, climate change, never-ending floods, spiraling prices, and the lunatic rant of an impeached Vice President – Bongbong has fared better than many have predicted.
His SONA bombast aside, Junior’s distaste to micro manage and his easy disengagement from the sordid affairs of State may have save the day for this presidency. He certainly is in tune with the sage Lao Tzu’s teaching that the best government is one that governs the least. /mdm
