
Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, the former president’s youngest son, has called on President Marcos Jr. to resign. Of course, he left out the fact that his sister the Vice President is next in line. And with ate Sara as president, kuya Pulong Duterte would surely get his P51 billion plus change. Ate Sara can now legally access billions in confidential funds. And Tatay Digong would be free from accountability for his crimes against humanity, at least for the duration of his sister’s term.
In short, last Sunday’s outburst was not about democracy. It’s all about privilege and perks. /Joey Salgado
