Everybody needs a little help sometimes, and animal welfare work is no exception. For rescuers and caretakers, extra hands can spell the difference between a full bowl and an empty one.
When WalterMart Supermarket first lent support to Save Animals of Love and Light (Save ALL), it showed that businesses can be strong allies for animals who cannot speak for themselves. Now, building on that first partnership, WalterMart has returned with another donation: 509 cans and pouches of pet food, plus 22 soaps and shampoos for their rescued animals, and Save ALL’s network of rescuers and shelters.
Filling bowls, lifting spirits
For independent rescuers, foster furparents, and shelter volunteers, rescue is a labor of love that runs on tight budgets and round-the-clock dedication. Every day, caretakers balance the rising costs of specialized diets, medical checkups, and rehabilitation for animals saved from neglect or abandonment.

The new supplies serve as a welcome cushion. Save ALL President Desiree Carlos shared that the donated food will be distributed to partner shelters and grassroots rescuers who need it most. Wet food is especially useful for senior dogs, recovering animals, and kittens that need softer, easier-to-eat meals.
The donation also includes 22 soaps and shampoos for animals. Grooming supplies rarely top a rescuer’s wish list, but a bath is often the first step in caring for an animal pulled off the street.
Consistent donations like this one also let rescuers plan ahead. Knowing that food is on hand frees up limited funds for vet visits, vaccinations, spay-and-neuter procedures, and utility fees, which are among the biggest expenses in rescue work.

Why animal welfare needs a village
Rescue groups cannot shoulder the stray problem alone. Animal welfare advocates note that stray dogs and cats across the Philippines face daily hunger, harsh weather, and illness, and that rescuers often fill gaps they were never meant to carry by themselves.
This is why support from private companies, civic groups, and individuals matters so much. When a business like WalterMart invests in animal welfare, it does more than deliver cans and pouches. It helps send the message that caring for community animals is a shared responsibility.
Opening hearts through adoption
Lasting change begins when people choose to support non-governmental organizations (NGOs), push for low-cost spay-and-neuter programs, and open their homes to animals in need.

Many advocates urge would-be pet owners to adopt rather than shop. Shelter and rescue animals often show remarkable resilience and affection, waiting patiently for someone to give them a second chance at a family.
WalterMart looks toward expanding its partnership with Save ALL through community education activities and responsible pet ownership drives, and shoppers are invited to take part in the mission. It doesn’t take running a shelter to be a hero. Volunteer for a weekend, donate a can of pet food, or welcome a rescued animal into your home. Every action counts.
Creating a safer, kinder world for animals takes collective effort. Through steady partnerships like this one, WalterMart and Save ALL show that when communities and businesses align for a cause, real impact follows. One bowl, one rescue, and one loving home at a time.
