
One cannot live one's life preparing for that “grand vacation,” that oft-dreamt retirement. The Sage says: One should live for a sure thing - and the only sure thing is death.
While so many things require our time and attention, it’s best to remember the only thing that really matters is how our actions and involvements appear at the time of death, and what impact they’ll have when one’s forever dead.
Therefore, the only way to live is to shun pursuits that do not prepare us for “going” when we have to go - with a grin on our faces. /mdm
